Pat knows that we can’t fight crime through law enforcement alone. Education and job creation are at the root of solving the rising crime issue. Crime is not just a police issue but a societal issue. Pat support anti-violence programs that address gun and gang violence from multiple approaches, and support for before and after school programs. Youth sports and Park District programs also need to be made available and affordable as alternatives for at risk youth.
Pat is also a leader in fighting crime in our communities. Pat works closely with the police department and neighbors to make our neighborhoods safe for every family, senior citizen and child. Pat supports retraining police officers from desk jobs to boots-on-the-ground patrols in high crime areas.
Lastly, when the State’s Attorney announced the creation of a community prosecution office for the purpose of outreach into neighborhoods in Cook County, Pat helped to find them space in the 40th Ward.
